Christiana Giacomasso Pell (left) found her cousin in Germany

Christiana Giacomasso (left) was born 1943 in Danzig (Gdansk) the former Western Prussia. Her father is Guido Giacomasso who was employed as a bank clerk in Gdansk and later served in the Italian army. Her mother is Susi/Susanne Giacomasso (maidenname Susanne Pirch). Susanne died in 1945 following heavy injuries caused by a jump out of the window in order to prevent her from violation by Russian soldiers who occupied Gdansk in March of 1945. After World War II Christiana grew up in a small town in Thuringia (Körner near Mühlhausen). Her aunt Edeltraut Riemann (right), she was a sister of her mother Susi, took care of Christiana before she migrated to her father's mother to Genua, Italy. Later, together with her Grandmother, she emigrated to her father Guido Giacomassso who lived in New York, USA. After her Italian Grandmother died Guido cut all ties to his in-laws in Germany. Today the only Person still alive who knows all details about Christiana Giacomasso's early childhood in Gdansk is Christiana's cousin Hannelore Grimm (78/maidenname "Pirch"). She lives in Papenburg, Northern Germany. Hannelore is a niece of Christiana's mother Susi/Susanne Giacomasso. Christiana Giacomasso ist probably married and so bears the name of her husband. Maybe someone knows her or knows where she lives. Christiana's cousin Hannelore Grimm (maidenname Pirch) would be glad to make contact to Christiana as soon as possible.

Addendum: Meanwhile Christiana found her cousin in Germany with the help of the web. She resides in California, USA. Most likeley they will get together soon. All members of the family are very excited and happy about that. After all the years past they have much to tell about their lives.
